“Hought’n Back” 35 Mile Ride

Cambridge North Station

Join Camcycle and Cambridge CTC for a leisurely ride along the busway cycle path out to Houghton Mill and back.

Discover the delightful riverside paths beyond the busway to the cafe at Houghton Mill, visit the historic market town of St Ives and explore the Thicket path.

The ride leaves promptly at 10.30am from Cambridge North station (in front of the station), stopping at 1pm for lunch at Houghton Mill. We will return to Cambridge North at around 3.00pm. You can also join the ride in Histon (at the busway Station Road crossing) at 10.45am.

(Exceptionally, if the busway cycle path to Histon is still closed, we will start the whole ride in Histon at 10.45am.)

This CTC-Cambridge led ride is suitable for confident city cyclists and will take a leisurely pace on a mix of surfaced cycle paths and quiet roads, totalling around 35 miles. We expect to be travelling at about 10-12 miles per hour. This ride is suitable for all types of bicycle – there are no off-road sections and no lifting required.  There is one short “no-cycling” section where we have to walk & push to cross the bridge at Houghton Lock. This ride is not suitable for unaccompanied minors under 18 years of age.

For any queries about the ride, please contact CTC Cambridge at secretary@ctccambridge.org.uk.
