‘Why we cycle’ film screening

Join Camcycle in the beautiful and award-winning Storey’s Field Centre for a screening of the Dutch film Why we cycle. It’s a love letter to a country where 27% of all journeys are taken by bicycle and a manifesto for those who aspire to the benefits of a cycling society.

To the Dutch, cycling is as normal as breathing. Perhaps that is the key to the bicycle’s success in the country. But because the Dutch don’t usually give cycling a second thought, they don’t really know what the deeper needs of cyclists are. In the documentary Why we cycle the filmmakers take a ride with ordinary cyclists and specialists from a variety of disciplines and uncover some obvious and hidden effects of cycling on people, on societies, and on the organisation of cities.

Come early for some Mac and Cheese with the Mac Daddy trike and a pedal-powered coffee from Tribecca. There will also be a bar.

The film will be screened at the new Storey’s Field Centre in Eddington, north-west Cambridge. Doors open at 7pm.

Purchase your tickets now for £10 (£9 for Camcycle members) and £5 for children.
