Open Eddington 2019

Cycling activity day at new Eddington community

Cambridge’s new community Eddington is hosting a day of free activities, talks and tours on Saturday 14 September.

The new district, developed by the University of Cambridge, will be holding a day of cycling themed activities for all ages to join in with.

The Market Square will be filled with a range of events and stalls including a bike try out show where participants can have a go on all kinds of weird and wonderful pedal powered machines. There will also be a bike bubble machine, a pedal powered jukebox where your legs can power the music, the sprint challenge and a pedal powered scalextrixs. There will be family activities including the Junkyard Orchestra, arts and outdoor games – plus tours and talks explaining the environmental features and ecology work. The day will feature over 20 attractions showcasing the new district including hands-on activities, live music, tours and talks, and a street food market and licensed bar.

Visitors can travel to Open Eddington for free using the U bus service which runs from the train station through the city centre and on to Eddington.
